As of the 30th December 2007 all adults who work with children are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check. The Working with Children Check is a Victorian Government initiative designed to keep children safe by preventing those who pose a risk to the safety of children from working with them, in either paid or volunteer work.
The Working with Children Check creates a mandatory minimum checking standard across Victoria. It is a requirement that all parents who work within the school in a volunteer or paid capacity hold a current WWC check.
If you are considering becoming a volunteer in our school and do not have a WWC, please visit the WWC site. There is no charge for volunteer WWC applications. However, you will need to have a photo taken as the card provided as evidence of your satisfactory check requires a current passport type photograph to be incorporated onto your card ID. You must provide the school with your card, so that a photocopy can be made and retained for our records. However, if you elect Boronia West PS as your place of employment/volunteering, a copy of your card will be sent to us automatically.
